Omar Awara is a passionate educator, who thrives on providing educational opportunities to international students from all over the world. He is currently the Manager of International Recruitment at the Toronto District School Board. Previously he was the Director of KGIC international language school and private career college. Having worked in Korea and Japan as a teacher instructor and coach, he believes deeply in the importance of global competency and international education. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, soccer, tennis and squash, and he loves exploring new places. He is looking forward to welcoming all the young international leaders to the international summer camp, and doing his very best, alongside a very talented team, to provide you with an exceptional and memorable learning experience.

Diane Tibbet has been teaching languages with the Toronto District School Board for over 10 years. She completed her university studies at Dalhousie University (B.Comm., B.A), at the University of New Brunswick (B. Ed.) and her Masters at the University of Granada in Spain (M.). She is highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to her students’ success. She is very passionate about teaching languages and she enjoys working with students from all around the world. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, in nature, and travelling.
Diane Tibbet - Teacher
Monica Kim is an elementary teacher with the Toronto District School Board. She studied at Ryerson University in the field of Early Childhood Education (Hon. BA), and studied at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (B.Ed.). She has been working in a variety of learning environment with different age groups, and enjoys teaching different subjects for her students. She is passionate about teaching English Language Learners and loves guiding students to reach their full potential.
In her free time, she enjoys going on a walk/hike in nature, going to the beaches to enjoy the beautiful weather, and spending time with her family.
Ms. Kim is looking forward to meet and work with the wonderful staff and students at TDSB International Summer Program 2019!
Monica Kim - Teacher
Tannaz Javaheri graduated from OISE's Master of Child Study & Education program in 2018. She has been working with Toronto District School Board for a year, and has completed two LTOs in Grade 2/3 and Grade 5. Tannaz also has over 5 years of experience working with English Language Learners of all ages, and is passionate about learning different languages herself!
When away from the classroom, Tannaz enjoys spending time with family (including her 13 year old Yorkie named Millo) and friends. She also enjoys travelling around the world, and taking advantage of the beautiful nature activities in Ontario such as camping, kayaking, hikes and swimming in lakes.

Deanna Bucco is a 23 year old Ryerson University student who is currently studying English and History, while working towards becoming a high school teacher. She loves school and learning, and is excited to be assisting with the 2019 ESL International Summer Camp. Deanna loves her home country of Canada, music, dancing, and baking. She likes to play guitar and she loves her labradoodle dog, Sammy. Deanna is looking forward to meeting all of the international students this summer!
Deanna Bucco - Camp Assistant
Caitlin Yau is a nineteen-year-old student at Brock University. She is currently studying for her Bachelors in Arts for Interactive Arts and Science. Caitlin enjoys working with international students and has previously volunteered at this camp before. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys playing video games, as well as singing and making music with the piano and guitar. She also enjoys baking treats for her family and friends. Caitlin is excited to and help out with the 2019 TDSB ESL Summer Camp!
